What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)  is a solution focused form of counselling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Its is also commonly known as tapping. It has grown in popularity in recent years due to its effective results and clinical studies. It has been approved by the American Medical Association for Depression, Anxiety & PTSD.

Often referred to as "Psychological acupressure", the technique works by tapping on acupressure points on the upper body which then release blockages within the energy system that are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort.

These blockages in our energy system, in addition to challenging us emotionally, often lead to limiting beliefs and behaviours and an inability to live life harmoniously.

Resulting symptoms are either emotional and/ or physical and include lack of confidence and self esteem, feeling stuck anxious or depressed, or the emergence of compulsive and addictive behaviours.
