Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis and ‘out of hypnosis’ therapy to bring about beneficial changes to a client. A useful definition of hypnosis is: “A trance-like state (altered state of consciousness) in which a person becomes more aware and focused, and is more open to suggestion.” This is a naturally occurring, very relaxed and comfortable state of mind that people can dip in and out of at any time, at varying levels of depth. You will have experienced this state many times yourself – maybe watching TV, in a meeting, walking along the road, driving etc where you’ve slipped into a daydream and lost track of time. Within a hypnotherapy setting, the practitioner will help the client go into hypnosis. The practitioner can then communicate directly with the client’s ‘unconscious mind’ which will help make the changes that they desire.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is a relatively new discipline, having been originally researched in the 1970s by academics who modelled ‘excellent’ therapists of the time and developed techniques to replicate this excellence. Many other academics and scientists, along with the original pioneers, have carried out new studies and developed techniques since then. These are applicable across a wide range of areas including: business, personal goal setting, phobias, changing habits, removing beliefs that limit us, and communication. Although many NLP techniques are ‘eyes-shut’ processes, they are generally performed out of formal hypnosis and use active visualisation.

Time Line Therapy™
